Football and women
OK I know alot of you dont like football (weirdo's) but a question I have for those that do. How do you go about watching football without getting moaned at by the misses?
If I was watching Latics (my team) then she'll never moan, she knows if I have the chance to watch them then I will regardless of what she thinks. But when I want to watch for example the other Sunday, Chelsea v Man United with the lads for a few hours in the pub I get moaned at, "You dont even support them so why do you want to watch it rather than be with me" WTF am I supposed to say to that apart from Its football, its what I like to do. I cant seem to have a good reply to that question.
Anyone else get anything similar? She knows Saturday is reserved for the England game though
Damn women

Don't tar us all with the same brush
I watch it with him and if he does feel the need to go to the pub and watch it with his mates, I'll go and see mines!

Try this approach:
"I wanted to watch the ****ing football, do I moan at you when you watch ****ing Eastenders 6 times a ****ing week? No. So **** off. y'****."

Doesn't happen in our house. I have absolutely no interest in football - i.e. Mark Lawrenson used to come into the restaurant I worked at nearly every evening and i knew him as "the chap with the tash"
Now if its F1 theres hell to pay. 2 hours of inactivity on Saturday followed by 3 hours of inactivity on Sunday and the odd comment about why bother sitting down to watch it if your asleep after lap 3?
End of this month is Bathurst which always causes a row - 7+ hours.

Pete, nice approach but that sort of attitude gives her a worse attitude towards me and I'll pay for it all week, make up Friday before it all starts again the next day when the footy is on

Dave, take her to a decent game of football. Not Oldham that means. Hopefully she'll appreciate the game a bit more and understand why you like watching it regardless of the teams. Failing that shorten her chain to the sink and hopefully she will think twice about questioning you again.

I mean you have accept that you will pay for watching the footy at some point - The question is who and when, not if.
This is why it is vitally important to get very very drunk down the pub on the Sunday, as when you get home, she will be utterly disgusted with you and think to herself "why should I bother" and phone her mother to tell her what a tosser you are. Meanwhile you can settle down in front of the box for Match of the Day 2

Whenever I used to go to Boundary park I used to swear that Oldham was the coldest place on Earth. I mean you could spit out gum onto the gorund and it would shatter.
I can remember going one year when they beat us 4-1, and I was wearing long johns, trackkie bottoms and jeans, with a bout 3 jumpers.
It was my mates first time to Oldham and he wore just a footall shirt.
I can remember looking across at him just before half time and seeing a single tear roll down his cheek

I can't stand football. It bores me rigid. (sorry football lovers)
Other half and my Son both enjoy it, so I just bugger off out of the way. Or, if OH wants to go to the pub with his mates to watch, I think. Great. An afternoon with the remote and to do what the hell I like
No idea why your GF is being so possesive. Tell to get a hobby and certainly do not let her make you feel guilty about enjoying something without her.

Shes not being possesive, quite the opposite really as we dont see much of each other as it is since we both have busy lives (I play Poker 2 times a week, play football sunday mornings and wont play Saturdays just to have some time at the weekend with her)

Our house it is the 'football v rugby' debate. I play/watch rugby but other half is more into football. England games for footie or rugby are not a problem but several tussles for the remote when it comes to Sky Sports clashes for club matches.

Damn women

2 things you can do.
1) Realise there is more to life than football and spend more time with your misses
2) Get another misses who is happy to accept you for the person you are
Its hardly rocket science mate.
