Default What was your wedding song?

With me and "her in doors" finally getting hitched next year, one of the things on our "to do" list is obviously to pick our wedding song (first dance). What did you lot have as yours?

This is harder than i thought as she said it has to be a song that means alot to us. No such song exsists, as when she says "thats nice" i nod while saying in my head "what a pile of cack"
Im a huge U2 fan but they just dont do anything "slow" enough that i can think of.

Our first dance was to Let's Get It On - Marvin Gaye, which was playing in the car when we first realised we should be a couple!

I just let her pick a song she liked and then said "Yes I like it too" when she asked me

I think it was a Bread one. Dated considering our age but I didn't really care lol

hmmm wedding songs..... well at or wedding there was me, the wife to be, our 2 yr old and a woman and her daughter as witnesses. I left register office 10 mins before time went into the street and asked these two women fi they would be witnesses. They agreed and the rest is history....
We had been together for 23 yrs so who gives a f**k about poncy expensive weddings
Only reasons we didi it was so our son had mum and dads names. More importantly made the paperwork easier on some land we were buying

Sooo wedding song was whatever was on in Mc D's when we got there......

We had The Buzzcocks' Ever Fallen In Love With Percy Sledge's When A Man Loves A Woman to close

I made two stipulations to the DJ when we got married too, if either Steps or Gareth Gates (Spirit In The Sky had just been released) got played, he didn't get paid

Surely 'All I Want Is You' is slow enough

Pretty much says what you want lyrically too

For my 1st wedding we had Sting's Fields of Gold.............

I can just about stand that song now, after ~ £120k and 6 years wasted

I'd have paid twice that to get rid though

Metallica - Nothing Else Matters

Not only 'our song' already, but the prospect of granny having to sit there listening to Metallica and pretending to enjoy it was just too good to miss

That was our wedding song too!
And you're right, seeing my dad unwittingly dancing to Metallica was hilarious!

Im a huge U2 fan but they just dont do anything "slow" enough that i can think of.

How about......

One
Running to Stand Still

or

I still haven't found what I'm looking for

We had 'For Once in my Life' - by Frank Sinatra

For once in my life Ive got someone who needs me
Someone Ive needed so long
For once unafraid I can go where life leads me
And somehow I know Ill be strong

For once I can touch what my heart used to dream of
Long before I knew
Someone warm like you
Could make my dreams come true

For once in my life I wont let sorrow hurt me
Not like its hurt me before
For once Ive got someone I know wont desert me
And Im not alone anymore

For once I can say: this is mine you cant take it
As long as Ive got love I know I can make it
For once in my life Ive got someone who needs me

good thread , we're getting married next year and we don't have a clue what to use. I'd like smack my bitch up but not go down too well.

We just browse iTunes looking for tunes we like.

Close one we might be picking is "your love is lifting me higher" thought of it whilst watching ghostbusters two couple of months back lol

My wife chose the lesser known song "I've Finally Found Someone" by Bryan Adams & Barbara Streisand. It was very apt as it's about a couple who start off as friends and you know the rest
