A recession is gross national or domestic product falling in two consecutive quarters. They can deny there is a recession as we aren't in one yet. Probably will be soon though.

Hmmmm... is that what the goverment classes as a recession ??
I thought it was companies closing down, thousands of people losing there jobs monthly, sky high fuel and commodity prices, sky high food prices, house prices crashing, car prices tumbling, high taxation and no confidence in the high street..

It's what any government classes as a recession, look it up. Yes these things are happening, but technically we aren't in recession. IIRC our last quarters results were no gain and no loss.

LOL.
A recession is as said above, sadly we are {as far as joe pblic} hitting the start of recession, however as the government use statistical facts and figures to justify situations we are not.
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to work out that the country / world {mostly} climate is in decline, however statistically we are not yet there

Oh i do agree...
Its just the government give figures that are incorrect to make you think that were not as bad off as we actually are...They dont want a country full of people that are full of bad feeling and p*ssed off at having there pockets rinsed every month..
They want people that feel wealthy and goodhearted toward them..
Inflation is supposedly running at 2.5% rising to 4% recently..
But the price of fuel, food, gas, electric to name a few has all risen massively over the inflation rate and has done for the past 2 consecutive quarters..
This added to unemployment figures, bankruptcy and receivership figures etc show that the country is indeed in a recession already...
We should go off what our eyes see happening around us,not off what we are being told..

You're only likely to have heard of them before going bust if you're a monumental, tasteless chav who goes on package holidays with other daily mail/sun reading dongrels.
