Any websites not agency related for jobs?
Hey all,
I wonder if anyone know's of decent jobs websites that dont use agencies, ie apply direct almost to companies looking to fill roles - I've just about had enough of agencies and want another route but I work in IT and its real difficult.

Eye, that's my plan for next week...just not sure what to put on the cover letter yet - need to think with clear head as being off of work at mo means DIY and DIY means gloss paint and I've got a head ache the size of the USA.

the other method would be speak to the agency get an idea of who they could probably place you with and then contact them direct, very naughty but it depends on your morals lol.

Hmm, nice idea but getting firms details from agencies is like trying to syphon fuel from a scooby tank - dont bother, it'll be empty! I'd like to though since the ways they now treat us as applicants.

TBH I have never had problems getting company names from them as I refuse to discuss anything unless I can check the compnay out first they usually cave in, in the hope you will want to work at that company.

that's because the jobs they're advertising don't actually exist. they post them as a fishing excerise, to see who's looking for work. whatever you do, don't tell them who you've been to interviews with, as they'll call them and send loads of cv's over in an attempt to place someone who's already signed up with them. when you pull them up on this, they will of course deny it though!
