Default Leaving Virgin.......who......

...........do I go with?

I have TV, broadband and phone, and pay around £100 per month.

Oh, and is it true that Virgin's broadband is GUARANTEED 10Mb, whereas everyone else's is UP TO 10Mb?

My sky + virgin bills are obscene. It's not even funny!

3 x Sky+ (full package) = £67/month
2 x Phone line + 1 x 20mbit + phone calls = £100ish/month

Going to ring virgin tonight methinks!

£100 a month

Phone costs me £10 month, broadband £25 (and only because I get a big download limit / need a sensible ISP for home working), TV - Freeview - Free!

65 for my sky+, full package
15 for my home phone and broadband.

Not that bothered by the cost, but sky is a little steep given how much it gets used at times...... but hey ho

Well it gets worse.
Just rang them to cancel all services, since they can't come to repair my set-top box until saturday.

While I'm arguing with the lass, I finally agree to a repair call saturday, only to be told that it's now monday morning. I argue about that, accept it, only to be told it's now monday evening!:mad;

They won't even accept 30 day's notice of cancellation as I'm tied to a retention deal until 14th sept, so I have to ring after that, THEN give them 30 day's notice.

WTF?

Oh and the previous bloke agreed that my account number had been changed so they had difficulty tracing me, then REFUSED point blank to give the new number over the phone, said it wasn't allowed. The second lass gave it me straight away.

Here's a breakdown of my bill:
Line rental: £11
Talk eve/wknd: £3.45
Retention deal -£21
Calldisplay: £1.75
TV, XL: £22
Movies4,5 Sports1&3,2&3: £25
Broadband, (4Mb apparently to be upgraded to 10Mb): £25

Total before any phone calls: £67.20

Phone calls<50p: £31.18 (and that with eve/wknd free)
Phone calls>50p: £16.28
VAT: £8.31

Total; £110.40 No wonder they put every obstacle in my way when I want out

I pay £47.45 a month for sky + £11.50 to BT.

That's for line rental, evening and weekend calls, all sky channels except for films and broadband.

But we hardly ever use the phone so don't have any extra on the bills

Dont let them pull that one on you - you can give them the 30 day notice now to say that you will be leaving as the date will be after the retention date.

The retention date is a date before you can leave, a cancellation notice can be given at any time.

I've never had a problem with Virgin.

Broadband, phone and tv all good in 3yrs of use other than the bit where they lost the sky channels that I didn't use. I got a discount from that anyway.

Are you sure. I'm lucky if I get 2000k on broadband speed test during the evening and 6000k during the day time.

I ask whats going on and they send an engineer and then blame my router, even though i've had 2, netgear wgt624 and wnr834b! or they connect you to their servers which does give 10 meg or am I missing the point?

Cant go with anyone else as we dont have a bt line!

I've tried telling a few mates that this is what they do.

Get shot of them and don't ever go back. (be warned though, they'll keep taking money out of your account until you speak to a human member of staff - Not likely BTW. They're all "respond to screen" junkies)

£30 with virgin for cable broadband, large tv package and phone rental.

£100 ???????????????????????

never had any bother with it at all.

it was cheaper than bt broadband on crappy phone cable and bt line rental for phone...... plus cable in for free now.

couldn't care less about sports (well football) or having latest movies.

I pay £30 with Virgin for 2mb broadband (only use internet for browsing and occasional down load on itunes so it's fine) large tv package and phone. I also pay an extra £3 for free evening and weekend calls on top but still no where near £100, I have also found their customer services to be fantastic, they sent an engineer out the day after i called when i had internet problems.

My parents use BT for their phone internet and tv and have constant problems, can't speak to anyone about them, no one calls them back when they say they will etc. Would never touch BT.

Only other option is Sky, but then you need a BT phone line
