Isle of Wight - things to do for group of lads?
Well my mate has gone ahead and booked Isle of Wight for a lads trip (3 nights) near Newport.
I have tried Google, but is there anything to do on the Island ? Pubs, clubs, nightlife etc ?.

Some simple guidelines for visiting the big D
1) Dont p*ss off the locals
your on an island with only 2 exit routes
2) Both the exit routes involve water, no matter how good swimmer's your mates may think they are, they have to cross two of the busiest shipping lanes in england.
3) Theres not an awful lot to do, and the last boat, hov goes early!!
4) Deliverance

mmmm sounds great.
This is what happens when you let one of the wifes of one of the lads book it - she has chosen the worst (safest, i.e. no women) place possible where the only thing female has 4 legs and goes baaaaaaaaaa.

best thing to do whilst over there is to kill your mate and dump the body in some water somewhere. Dont feel guilty as he cant really be classed as a friend...

i went there many years ago and we just ended up going drinking....i suppose you'll do the same!
you may find on thurs night that the pubs are gearing up for the rally weekend. when i;ve been there for the rally, there are a number of pubs in ryde with ska, reggae, soul etc nights but not sure if they start on the thurs or not. i think ryde is about 15min from newport by cab
failing the above, you could always take some mud packs, cheap white wine, shampoo etc and have a few "girly pampering nights"
