Waiting for the Touch Diamond Pro myself. Looks good on paper.

As for the Touch Diamond, the 4Gb memory with no expansion slot (e.g. mini / micro SD card) puts me off.

I just hope the battery life is better than the dire 14 hours standby I get from the 02 branded HTC phone I have. Think it's the Wings

I read a review of the Touch Diamond and the guy said that the speed of it was appalling. He concluded by saying that if anyone thought about buying one that he would steal their credit card to save them the agony.

A fairly clear review I thought!

Hmmm, link to this review please. They seem to rate it on GSM Arena and in a direct comparison to the i900 they said there wasn't much to separate the two HTC Touch Diamond vs. Samsung i900 Omnia: Head-to-Head - GSMArena.com

Got it:
PC Pro: Product Reviews: HTC Touch Diamond

and as i said: "Until then, though, the Bad outweighs the Good by such a margin that if people told us they were thinking of buying the Touch Diamond we'd be forced to rip the credit card out of their hands for their own protection."

I've just read the comments - you should as well as you may find them useful

One of the reasons I'm stepping away from the diamond is because of it's Ram memory which is only 192mb. I have an HTC touch with an 8gig memory card but due to low/similar ram memory every 3 months say I have to reset the phone as it runs out of memory and the phone becomes unusable. Any application or internet program uses up the ram and the extra storage space of the sd card is useless and is only of use for pictures, music and video etc The other HTC touch pro has more than 3 times the ram of the diamond so I assume this problem won't be as bad

Ta, so from the comments there is some speculation that it's running some older software and that a ROM update will sort the speed issues. Anyway I'm waiting for the pro version, hopefully they will have ironed out all the bugs by then
