yeah, it has the built in mixer, so you will need either active speakers, or a speaker and amplifier set up. and also don't forget headphones.
so are you knew to mixing then?
you looking for a hobby or profession? what sort of music are you into then?
and yes 20 questions is one of my annoying habbits

And another here for pioneer!
I've got CDJs. I've got 1000mk2. Those are the industry standard (or the 1000mk3). If you're going for CDJs for at home I'd recommend 800mk2s. Really easy to use. Or the CDJ400s are alright for fannying about with for effects and stuff.
You'll need a mixer and an amp (I've got a DJM600 and a bog standard Denon amp). You'll also need to get yourself a decent wee set of speakers. I know it sounds chavvy but if it's your first set up it's worth going into the likes of Cash Generator and haggle with them. You'll find you can get some pretty decent stuff in there.

dont rule out the denon stuff either.
im running 2x denon dn-s1000 cdj's alongside a technics 1210mk3 turntable (for the classics), and a behringer djx700 mixer.
got both cdj's for around £150 each on ebay second hand (about £300 new each).
run a carlbro 2x150watt rms amp and 2xgemini 300w stand alone speakers. its a pretty good set up for a bedroom studio and give a clear sound.
also a decent set of headphones is essential, got some sennheisers for that.

Pair of Pioneer CDJ 800s/1000s
A mixer from vestax/pioneer/allen & heath- pretty much any from the big three will be fine. Buy used!
Pair of technics 1200/1210 if you like the wax (again, buy used, literally bomb proof)
Any of these you can resell later if you dont like it for pretty much what you paid for it. Any of the cheaper crap will lose a load of value and isnt as good anyway.
Oh and the best headphones on the market are sony mdr-7506 (US model only...can import them via ebay though around the $100 mark)- and they **** on pretty much any other dj aimed headphone at 1/3 of the price of some.

We are all lurking somewhere
Seriously - If you are looking at getting into it spend the money now on some CDJ's 1000/800 & dont look back at a later date, if you decide its not for you CDJ's still fetch good prices on Ebay etc, where as 1210's are dirt cheap these days (well on ebay anyway)
Cant go wrong with CDJ's or 1210's, just depends on preference (CD / Vinyl etc)

well since your all bragging about your equipment....
2 X denon dns 3500's,
2 X numark TT-X1's
1 X pioneer djm 600 (but considering a djm800)
1 X scratch live
1 X mdr700's sony headphones (i think thats the correct model number)
peavey 1000W pa system, and then a smaller home speaker system for playing not so loud at home
