Default On the topic of the RIF-RAF............

.............the paintjob on this Hawk looks really good, reminds me of the Europe camo. that the states had during the cold war......

It's actually a copy of the paint scheme the RAF had during the Battle of Britain...

European Lizard 1 (as it was called) was 3 tone green. I think.

It looks quite sharp, I never liked the Training Command colours very much anyway. We get a few all black ones go past here too sometimes.

not strictly battle of britain livery LOL. By the time of the Battle 19th Wing at Duxford had dropped the number 19 from the tail and moved over to a 2 letter fuselage identity.

Colours are dark green and dark earth and remained on defensive spits until offensive operations over the water started (oct 1942 I think) when the brown was swapped for grey.

Lizard schemes are two greens and a grey and started on USAF aircraft in the 80's I think.
