Default Thinking of changing AV speakers

Been looking at my ageing Tannoy 611's and wondering if i should replace them?

Sonically they still sound good, but dont seem to have the same bite they had when i purchased them.

Now i know my hearing will have rolled off, but im wondering if newer kit out there, can match or surpass the tannoys.

BTW there the Dual concentric type, so they have a unique sound to start with.

Her indoors is looking at smaller speakers (why???) me i like floor standers.

any recommendations, or suggestions

I don't know whether these are better than what you have but they are now half price due to new model either due or now on sale. Replacement looks the same i believe but has some internal improvements.

QUAD L-ITE 5.1 SPEAKER SYSTEM (ROSEWOOD) - available from Superfi UK Visit http://www.superfi.co.uk/index.cfm/page/moreinfo.cfm/product_id/2479 for details

Thumbs up

These are what I finally plumped for.

2-300 would go part way towards - save a bit longer and ante up dude - you won't regret it - unless your amp is shab.

Denon are pretty good - Arcam are very good
