Seeing it's only 6 months old you may be in luck as Any defect/fault which becomes apparent within the first 6 months of purchase is automatically assumed to be faulty at purchase, and its upto the store to prove otherwise says so in the sale of goods act.
If it is over 6 months old and it is only one or two pixels that's where some companies will try and wiggle out of it.

I suggest you check the documentation or Sony's website, for their dead\hot pixel policy. Some manufacturers will only swap the unit out if it has more than a certain number of, in your case, hot pixels. If Sony won't swap it, check with John Lewis to see if they will. Good luck.

Pixel Policy or not they cannot wriggle out of it unless you were told that it was not a Class1 panel. The BS spec clearly states that it is assumed that it is a Calss1 panel unless stated otherwise and a Class1 panel is to be free from pixel defects. But John Lewis are pretty good.

At least its not a black pixel - that would be a dead one.
I've massaged a green and a blue pixel out before - one on an iiyama monitor and another on an iPhone - requires gentle massaging in a circle around the affected area - this sometimes kicks its back into life.

IIRC, laying the panel flat face down can also help to free them up.
Some of the Sony's suffer from "clouding" (Mura defect?) laying them flat can help reduce it.

Thanks for the advice.
We actually only bought it on 4th April, and it has actually been on about 4 times for half an hour max. If it doesn't get sorted Thursday, I want a new one!
