Where can you get the best exchage rate Euros to Pounds?
Hi
Just nipped down to the bank to change some euros in pounds, because it is commission free, but the rate was shockingly poor.
I will need to change more Euros (Cash) into Pounds at a later date.
Does anyone know where I am likely to get the best deal
I am in the South East
Thanks all
Steve

The Post Office are currently offering 1.2202 Euros to the pound.
What's the shocking rate you were quoted?
I'm off on holiday in a couple of weeks so any info will be handy

You should get the best rate by withdrawing the money abroad from a cash machine with your bank card (not credit card). Saves having to walk around with a wad of notes too!
Anyone selling bank notes has to cover storage and insurance plus loss of interest and will get this back from you.

The OP is wanting to change EUROS back into £'s.
Unless you got a guarantee of cchanging back at the rate you bought them, you'll always lose out going this way.
Shame you aren't a bit nearer to me: I'll be wanting a couple of thousand pounds worth of Euros next week, midweek, and would have split the difference with you. No commision, either
I've done it that way before: if the selling rate is 1.22, and the buying rate is 1.38, we exchange at 1.30.
The SELLING rate here in Scunny has been 1.18 this week Can you tell it's getting close to the summer holidays?

This year I've got one of these Currency Card - Caxton FX travel cards - Euro - Dollar - the best rates guaranteed Yet to actually use it so can't really comment on how well it will work but the exchange rate is pretty good and theoretically it should be far and away the best deal.
