Bonekickers: PC Claptrap
Has anyone else had the misfortune to watch this latest offering from the BBC?
I watched the first episode last week and it was so incredulously bad I felt compelled to watch it again last night to see whether it could get any worse.
It could.
Week 1: We have Time Team wannabes unearthing Jesus's cross and Christian fundamentalists dressed as knights beheading the kindest, most law abiding Muslim you have ever seen.
Where do you go from that?
Week 2: We have slaves being brought into Bristol who turned out to have been amongst the founders of the United States of America, betrayed by George Washington. A fact covered up by evil white Americans and uncovered just in time for a black senator's election campaign.
Apart from being historically and factually ludicrous, badly acted and every detail having to be spelt out for the audience with laughable delivery there is the BBC's shameless PC agenda rammed in your face to the point of choking.
One wonders where they could possibly go next?
According to the preview it is something to do with Boudica... so we better brace ourselves for a BBC spoon-fed dose of women's rights, equal opportunities and 2000 year old burnt bras.
I just hope I can resist the "car crash" effect and avoid wasting another hour on it!

Very very poor and so laughably amateurish when it came to real archaeology - perhaps I've leant a few things from Timeteam?
I wonder if they even consulted anyone to do with the subject?
Hitlers Bunkers in Berlin just before it on Ch 5 was the proper digging stuff.

Have they ticked the boxes of homosexuality, disability, sex and race when casting the actors to make it a true PC production?

one word...tripe...
But I keep watching hoping it'll suddenly surprise me.... last nights episode was a milestone in utter bull... running away from sulphuric gas.... "it's ok..the gas is behind us..we have 20 minutes to gaze at the crystalized corpse of some old hag..... then oops... it's all happening again..water, gas explosions etc etc... I was waiting for the Roman Bath's to explode and sink into the caves below... pity...would have given me some pyrotechnics to aww at lol....
