Default Any Harmonica Players Out There?

All,

Can anyone lend me some expertise on what to look for/avoid when buying Harmonicas?

Have played in bands for years and can play guitar, bass and sing so I'm pretty musical
The new band I'm is going for Rock/Folk/Blues sort of direction and I would like to learn the Harmonica as it would fit pretty well with some of the stuff we are talking about doing

Looking on our friend 'E-Bay', they vary in price but I'm thinking that Diatonic scale would be the best (A, Bb, C, D, E, F, G ?). The question is, what do you gain/lose from 10 hole, 28 hole versions?

The only advice I have received so far is go for Hohner if you afford them, as they offer best price for quality.

Any ideas folks?

Thx

Get a chromatic one

Or you could get a few in different keys

Sonic,

The ones I were looking at formed part of a set with one for each key.

I don't know the real difference between chromatic and diatonic, unless it is simply the same as the scales of the same name, (i.e. the stepped standard notes on the Marmonica?).

Forget the moonshine, just go for the big jugs.

I'm going camping in July, where you have a fire pit for each pitch!

*daydreams*...I can see it now, sun goin' down - hot and red in the sky. Embers glowing in the fire and me playing 'Heart of Gold' on me new Harpy, swigging Moonshine and ogling the woman's big jugs in next door's tent **

Or the reality, crouched in the soaking wet tent porch, drinking warm Becks and listening to next door's kids arguing and being slapped by their flat chested chav Mother.

hey ho!
