Yes dont. Some people kid themselves that there are 'Japanese' quality and 'Swiss' quality watches, but this is nonsense. There are nasty Chinese watches and thats pretty much it. Some have a copied Citizen or similar movement and some have a copied ETA movement, in varying qualities. Websites cant be trusted and the 'review' sites and such are usually all operated by the owners of the sites that they recommend. Talk of watches so good that even watchmakers cant tell when theyre opened is rubbish: wathces thatll fool people with no idea are common enough but anything better is somewhere between very rare and completely unheard of.
Its up to you but youd be better spending the money (or less!) on a genuine old Omega or similar. Failing that you could buy a Sandoz or other similar make that uses a real ETA automatic action in a good quality case that looks very very similar to a Rolex. The irony with these is that they look more like Submariners and Datejusts than fakes, theyre far better made and finished and use genuine Swiss ETA movements, whilst usually costing less than all but the worst Turkish holiday replicas.....
Caveat emptor.....

I bought two of them last off of looki looki men in Puerto Banus. Two Breitling ones.
One is absolute sheet. The other is a work of art.
Paid 40 euro each. They will do for work. Keep the real ones for playtime
*Disclaimer* I manage/run a fleet business & sometimes i have to be under the bonnet of a vehicle to assess the damage (so to speak) so i suppose i can justify wearing replica's to work.

Thats exactlty what I thought - just needed it confirming. Had heard about Jap/Swiss fakes & thought this sounded improbable.
Cant believe the prices some sites are trying to charge.
Thanks for the reply.

Youre welcome. Therell be plenty of people (and some may post here) who claim to have, or have seen, or have a friend whos a watchmaker who saw (or was told by a watchmaker whom he knows...), an amazing 'replica' that defied identification as such, though. If you do a little research youll soon get beyond the 'quality' myth and youll be able to make your own decision.

I am going on my own assumption
Breitling Montbrillant Olympus A19350 - 729 - 432SS Mens watch at AATime.com
I have the above Breitling & i also have the copy. It feels & looks the same apart from the 3 inward dials dont work on the copy. maybe it doesnt feel as good either but for £35 against 4.5k its a no brainer

i have seen a few comparison photos before and they always look different in some way, but might have been looking at the "gash" end of the market
