Fookin 'ell i'm not a body builder far from it but i'mpretty well up on lifting weights and getting strong.
There are no magic pills, but the main pointers for increasing strength are:
Dont train a bodypart more than once a week i.e. chest, back, etc. train maximum of 3 times a week but with real intensity. what i mean by this is dont **** about chatting to your mates, get in and get out. i'm done in under an hour. and after warming up really push yourself, dont be half hearted. i'm a right miserable git in the gym i go with a couple of lads who do mainly cardio but once in the gym i hardly speak to them and go and do my own thing.
Protein, your body needs sufficient protein to grow, make sure you pay particular attention to diet. eat 5 small meals a day. all with sufficient protein. if you struggle putting weight on then take a protein shake. this is a good idea anyway after a workout as the protein is quickly absorbed into the body as it is in liquid form.
get plenty of rest and dont over do the booze.

I just used to wee a lot with it.
It may have changed now as i took it when it first came out, and supplements tend to evolve.
try CNP they are a good brand, maybe speak to Kerry Kayes who is Ricky Hattons strength coach and nutritionist. he really knows his stuff.

BSN No-Explode for vascularity and energy boost (stuff is amazing, gives you a pleasant high when your training).
Reflex Protien, pure whey protien and comes in various flavours, suppliement your daily diet with 1 or 2 or shakes but don't be an idiot and replace your meals with it (I mix it with 35% milk and rest water).
After you have finished the BSN stuff you could try Maxi Muscle Extreme Creatine - again another product that worked really well without causing the crappy bloated feeling you get off creatine but MM stuff is a bit expensive.

Not everyone reacts positively to creatine, whether it be Creatine Ethyl Ester (doesnt require a glucose based delivery into your system), or Monohydrate(does require sugar delivery). I swear by Muscleform Ceemax (CEE) personally. Tastes like **** but seems to give me a good increase in strength.

You need to burn off the fat and then build up lean muscle. Plenty of cardio should get the fat off then increase the weights for your muscle mass, but can't really do both things at the same time effectively

You need energy to train, dont go starving yourself because you might lose weight but you'll lose lean mass as well. eat 5 small meals as this will stabalize your blood sugar level. eating two big f*** off meals and your body will not be able to process it and convert it to fat.
up your cardio and keep it seperate from your weight training routine if you can, do your cardio in the morning if possible, say 30 minutes 3 times a week.
on the whole diet thing, i'm sure i'm a lot heavier than you (fatter) but following a sensible eating and training regime i've put lean muscle on yet lost over 3 stone so something is working.
eat well but eat clean, go easy on red meat and eat clean protein, skinless chicken, turkey, and fish.
dont have loads of carbs before bed and stay away from processed foods at all costs.
