Cool Memories and Music, what's yours

Am just listening to an old song. David Bowie - Life on Mars.

First love memories with this one, wonder what he is doing now

Junior school romance, can't beat it

Will's Music from the Chris Moyles show in the afternoon.

I used to have this as the start up tune on my office PC out in Tenerife. Happy days.

I now actually have the Will's Music V PPK as my ringtone

I forgot this one: Andy Williams - Music to watch girls by

Why? It reminds me of those hot sunny days at the beach where we'd enjoy a few bottles of Coronita while we watched the girls go by.

Ocean Colour Scene - Robin Hood YouTube - ROBIN HOOD - OCEAN COLOUR SCENE

Beautiful tune.

Mine and my best mate of 20 years song. Little did I know, 11 years after claiming it, him and I would still be sitting reminiscing to it to this day; and the lyrics are more relevant as we get older. Everytime I listen it brings back a new memory from various points through our friendship. Just reminds me why I love him so much.

NOW I'm getting emotional!

What a good thread Lee

loads of songs, loads of memories.

Robin Hood - 1994 No1 when we got married- (no not the 1812 overture.... everything I do.... still applies 14 years and 3 days later)
Money for nothing.... my first job (never did work out how to get chicks for free)
Nothing compares 2 u - my first love, who dumped me about a week before I met the one from Robin Hood
Brothers in Arms - That riot in 1985 when..... erm shhh....

All time best and most appropriate song - Aretha Franklin 'Say a little prayer for you' - Was playing on hospital radio when our oldest was born 7 weeks early weighing in at just under 4 lb. Now she is a cocky 9 year old with her own ideas, the same song still applies

Snow Patrol - Run

We used to play this to my ex's baby daughter in the car to get her to fall to sleep. It's particularly poignant to me as she died at 18 months of meningitis and this song keeps her memory alive for me.

Even the words move me:

Light up, light up,
As if you have a choice
Even if you cannot hear my voice
I'll be right beside you dear

Louder louder
And we'll run for our lives
I can hardly speak I understand
Why you can't raise your voice to say

To think I might not see those eyes
Makes it so hard not to cry
And as we say our long goodbye
I nearly do
Now I'm feeling emotional.

as i grew up in the 90s theres loads of those songs that bring back memories of well being...

this is probably one of my favourites. i was 8 or 9 when it came out

and this too.

they would be my chill out well being songs. also had a thing for ace of base in the early/mid 90s when my music education was like a sponge

As an oldie... far too many, T.Rex, Slade, and so many others from the seventies... but as a wee kid I put the radio on to "Bits & Pieces" by the Dave Clark Five, forgot to turn it off after and got bollocked by my parents !

strangely a very similar story. The line "for the girl with the mousey hair" reminded me of a girl at school i fancied the pants off but was too shy to ask out, folk called her mousey because of her hair colour, still think about her when i hear that song

This tune will always remind me of good times

It played at the millenium Gatecrasher all nighter at the Don Valley stadium in Sheffield, and will always have a special place in my heart
That riff always makes me grin, and remember good times

YouTube - Bedrock - Heaven Scent

Sure most of the snet masive will hate it, but for me its a solid reminder of my youth being mashed and being up for days on end
