Thumbs up 12 Months On - who has given up?

I'm sure you wonder why you didn't do it earlier!?

I know I do!!

I'm on about smoking of course ..... anyone else so pleased that they opted to stop smelling like an ashtray?

Gave up over 3 years ago (just as they decided to introduce the ban in Scotland)

Looks like plenty others joining by binning it

Congrats. No brainer really, but as an ex smoker I know the other side of the coin.

You'll never look cooler either
my one regret is starting back up after a year of giving it up, what a tool.

The wife and I gave up 01/07 last year. I had smoked for 29 years and the wife 25 years.

We went through absolute hell for the first 5 months or so. Pure torture when having a pint.

Best thing that I have ever done without a doubt.

I can now enjoy a beer and hardly ever think about them.

Not stopped smoking though.

I am going to smoke for the next year so I can then give up and have the insufferable smugness and rabid anti smoking stance of and ex smoker

I managed to kick it after a long time eleven years ago. Been very lucky in that I never feel the need for another ciggie now. It was very difficult of course-I cornered the market in Maltesers! You always wish you had managed it earlier of course.

Made a very big difference to the other things I could afford afterwards though.
