If You Were an Apprentice

If You Were an Apprentice
Just coming into an Electronic/Electrical Design Drawing Office for some training, with the worlds best CAD Design Packages at your disposal .... what electronic gizmo would you most like to design.
The PCB will be designed by you, circuitry could be lifted from elsewhere, the mechanical housing would need to be modeled too.
I'm thinking something car based - hence asking here - in my day it was car alarms, but I'm guessing that's old hat now?
The Apprentice will be about 18 years old with little engineering knowledge, hence to be placed in my department for training.
Ideas?

Even the "worlds best" PCB CAD packages are a complete **** at times
I suppose it all depends on your field, I mean what are you "into"? High speed? RF? Power? HDI?

Some kind of device that detects knock / detonation in the engine providing some sort of optical or audible indication to the driver.
They driver can then drive carefully to prevent further detonation until they have used up the tank of duff fuel, had their MAF sensor replaced, or whatever else that was causing the issue sorted out. Would save many a Impreza engine from premature failure

I suppose Pete Lewis could be exempt on account of needing so many accounts on the go at the same time to keep up with the bannings.

If the apprentice was to design a SN Bollox/Myth detector .... what words/keystroke should be looked for?
I'll start with two:-
1. Heatsoak
2. Crank Sensor Disconnect when type with the word Oil
3.
Over to you
