The Lego Vault
Here is a rather interesting article, with video, that details the vault that Lego has that contains all of the Lego sets made.
Very cool. I remember having some of those sets, in fact, I think most of them are still in my parents loft, however, not sealed in their boxes, as they were lovingly played with

I've still got this
and this
along with all my other lego from when I was a kid sitting upstairs boxed up in my eldests's bedroom. Still waiting for time to be able to sit down with my kids and build it all again as have many of the instruction books kept for my sets. Problem is modern lego sets look much more fun to my kids than the old stuff I used to play with, Batman, Spiderman and Star Wars sets (read just the figures) being the most played with in our house.

Just found the first set I had, which was 674 Fork Lift & Truck. I also had the Town Square, which was a special promotional set you could get from Weetabix by collecting tokens and sending off for it.

That's super cool! Nice one!
Still got loads of lego stored away somewhere.
My bro still get's some bits, don't think we'll ever grow up,
he bought the Lego deathstar a couple of years ago(ish)
and bought this last year Imperial Star Destroyer™ | LEGO® Exclusives | LEGO Shop
I've got the millenium falcon buried away somewhere too.
God I'm sad, think I'll go and play with my Yoda lightsabre

I had that!!!!
I loved Lego, I used to get a kit every time I went to Nottingham to see the grand parents from the parents when we went into town.
I used to build them in minutes flat!! On 1 occasion, I got a kit, a fairly simple 1 it has to be said, and I built it on the way home in the back of the car, in 5 mins, in the dark!!!
It has to rank in the top 2 of kids toys along with Meccano.
Wish I'd kept all the instructions now so I could build all the kits again if the parents kept it, I think the flogged it.

I had those 2 too. Still do actually.
All in the loft at my mothers house. Including all my Action Man & Star Wars stuff. Non boxed mind. Wish they were, would be worth some money now
Think I still have Big Track up there too.
A sure fire toy to get you beaten by your parents...... Set it to drive into the living room while they're watching telly. Set it to turn towards them and fire 99 times
Trailer for Big Track never seemed to work properly

Big Trak and trailer got chucked years back as it didn't work anymore probably after all the use it had.

I had loads of lego as a kid, including the weetabix town square
My Mum in her wisdom decided I was to old for that sort off stuff, and gave it all away (along with my Star Wars stuff and my Chopper) whilst I was away at Uni
The real irony of it was that all through my childhood she had been forever telling telling me to look after one crappy old toy or another because one day it would be worth something
Of course being the good son that I am, I wouldn't dream of occasionally emailing her links to ebay auctions showing how much the stuff she gave away was worth now

I have to admit to purchasing some of the recent Star Wars themed Lego sets. I had a Speeder bike and an X-Wing, which I think are still sitting on top of a cupboard in my bedroom back in the UK.
I completely agree about having kids and then getting to play with Lego. I know my Dad certainly enjoyed building the models with me, or, in fact, taking over and finishing it off himself

i had loads as a kid, but kept the technic go cart that had a piston engine that moved when you pushed it backwards or forwards (no idea on the model number)
then gave it away about 10 years back for nothing, still boxed, with instructions
