Default Silverstone F1 Test

Anyone going this week? What times are they on track and do you get pit lane access. I'm booked in for Thursday, taking the kids and they would love to get to see the cars & drivers.

I was going to go, but access is limited to certain parts of the circuit, and I didn't fancy paying as you cannot guarentee which drivers will be on circuit and at what times.

However, for £27 you can go to see the touring cars at Silverstone in August for two days! I'll be going to watch that.

Was only £12 per adult and kids are free, I thought that was pretty good considering you have access to all the grandstands.

You only have access from bridge to copse. And you wont be allowed into paddock or pits unless you have a pass.

Are they definately all open? It was this bit on the website that put me off.

British F1™ drivers Lewis Hamilton*, Jenson Button*, David Coulthard* and Anthony Davidson* could all be testing and, following the popularity of last year's F1™ test, Silverstone will be opening some of the best grandstands and spectator terraces at no extra charge to ensure fans get the best possible views of the on-track action.

*Teams and drivers subject to change.
I'd advise taking your own refreshments too. I was there for the Renault World Series and food was a minimum of £5 and drinks were £3 or more.

You should be able to get a good view from Bridge. Watching the Formula Renaults and Megane's screaming through was brilliant as you are so close up.

I was wandering through the pits at the RWS.

I even got to look through the gaps in the pit wall safety fence
