The year has turned.........
It's now 4 days after the solstice, (it was on 20th June this year as it's a leap year), and the days are getting shorter. One minute less daylight today than yesterday
The worst thing, for me, was to awaken at just before 4am this morning to.....................silence. Not a bird singing anywhere.

I was racing at Mountain Mayhem (24 hour MTB race from 2pm Sat to 2pm Sun) last weekend. I ended up doing a lap which started at around 1.30am and finished about 4.15am (by then the course was mud, mud, mud, mud and more mud). Just before 4am it suddenly seemed to get light and the birds starting singing - was lovely to be out and hear that.

We've skipped summer up here in Irn Bru land. It's ******* shocking weather. It's around 13-14 degrees. Been like this for at least 10 days.
Freezing and crap weather.
