He already has (or used to) a Lightning on his lawn
I know he lives near Chipping Norton, but can anyone find his house on Google Earth with the plane visible ? I doubt it stayed more than a few days after filming, but you never know.

This lucky American chappy's got an airworthy one (well it was briefly until the undercarriage collapsed on landing last year!). I think it's the only one in private hands anywhere in the world that still flies. He's an ex US Marine pilot, who used to fly them for work and now does so for pleasure.
He will be back up in the sky in it after some repairs very soon. He's also recently acquired an ex RAF Harrier as source of spares.

I sat in the one at the Brooklands Museum and admittedly it was the twin seater version but I could not believe how little room there was in the cockpit. I am not that big either, just a bit more than I would like to be.
That seems a bit pricey, when the Vulcan came to the end of it's service you could have one for £3500 delivered, if you had a runway at least 2000 feet long! They removed the ejection seats though since they were leased from Martin Baker I used to go around assessing places for safety during delivery.

£26k seems a bit steep for one that doesn't work
The USMC will sell you a fully functioning F4 for not much more than that
Provided you're not in the axis of evil of course
