Plasma TVs vs LCD TVs

Plasma TVs vs LCD TVs
I expect this has been done to death BUT
1 : Is one better then the other
2: What should i look for in either (connectors, compatibility etc)
I'm leaning towards LCD as the room it will be going in isn't that big i don't really care about Blu Ray ,just using the xbox360 but i just want an up-to-date TV (and the prices ,imo, are quite reasonable)
Is there that much difference in i (interlaced) and p (progressive)?
cheers
Paul

Correct
I've yet to see a lcd (even an expensive one) that looks as good as a decent plasma. The trouble with lcds is the colour reproduction imo.
Depends on what you want to connect it to
Not as much as people would lead you to believe. Esepcially on the smaller sized screens. It really only becomes noticeable at 42" and above (even even then it's not a great difference).

It still depends on what you connect, (i.e. what outputs the devices have). Have you got a 360 or dvd player with hdmi output? If not then I'd be looking to use component leads for the best quality.

less than 36" go lcd, over go Plasma, you will get scart component and should get composite and s-video inputs on most screens now, make sure the screen copes with scrolling txt like on sky news, on some LCD's it is blurred.

Go for a Panasonic TH37-PX80 or a 42-PX80 - superb and well priced via John Lewis price match.
I paid £620 at JL for our 37-PX80 on pricematch with 5 year guarantee, 360 looks superb through component. I wish I'd gone 42 now, although the mrs reckons the 37 is perfect for the room.
