Thing is, there is a difference between Genuine Gypsies and Pikeys and every one knows it.

Calling someone a pikey isn't slur on thier race. It's a slur on them being a dirty bunch of lawless, cheating, abrasive filthy arseholes

Awww, some little smith clan's got upset about Martin's outrageous insinuation that they are a dishonest bunch, that's so untrue

If he had said there were a bunch of paddy's/mick's laying tarmac I could see the problem. I doubt many outside the UK would actually know what a pikey was. The local expression, obviously not in french, would probably be either Trailer/White Trash, possibly with a bit of native heritage thrown in for good measure.

Precisely.

The word "Pikey" doesn't not automatically mean any one particular nation/race.

Whats the problem?

Its not as if he's playing **** torture role play games with a bunch of ******, now, is it?

Pikeys ae often seen driving untaxed flatbed transit pickups, often offering to tarmac ones drive on the cheap. Its a true statement of fact; if you want bit tarmacing done quick and cheap get a pikey in.

It gives Trevor Philips (ironically a confirmed anti-white people racist) something to be the head of.

A Pi-key (yeah i know its old)

I heard him say it and thought at the time he'd get into grief but good natured banter i thought.

Yes - he was quoted as saying that people with different political opinions to his own extreme leftie PC views (he was referring to BNP members) should be treated as "less than human".

As fine statement to come from the lips of the Head of the amusingly called "Commission for Equality and Human Rights"

"Extreme left PC views?" what, not being a racist you mean.

As for his comments about the BNP, I did a google, and interestingly, the only place this is reported, to any degree is in on the BNP site, and various other blogs for racists. Regular reader are we?

The only paper I can find it in is the Scottish Herald, and even then it doesn't quite him as saying it in context at all. It just says the words, and follows up with direct quotes, which don't mention the "less than human" part at all

The Herald - Scotland's Leading Quality Daily Newspaper

Thats said, I don't think it makes him a racist to suggest that the BNP are "less than human" seeing as it is more or less an accurate description of them. And I *think* you have to be human to qualify for Human rights, don't you?

EXACTLY!

If i called Peter a w@nker - would all people who ********** be offended or upset or feel victimised or 'write in' FFS!

Well done Brundel for not being another PC robot!

P!key, one of the few places this is deemed to be unacceptable is on SN, the rest of the real world accepts it and its meaning for what it really is!

For those who think the word P!key is offending or describes the whole gypsy/romany race/group then get a ******* grip!

How long before Chav is banned or deened non-pc by the Leftie right-on assclowns...

Not looking hard enough then. Neither are where I came across the references.

I guess that pasrticular statement doesn't confirm him a racist then (even though he is) - just a completely hypocritical tosspot - Statements like that have more in common with ****'s then those made by the BNP.
