At what point will the pips squeak?
With petrol going up a penny a day ......
At what point will it just be too much and the reserved 'take-it-on-the-chin' British actually stand up and say 'THAT's ENOUGH!!!!'?
I struggle to see us here in blighty actually EVER doing ANYTHING except moan ....... even at £2 a litre! We just do not riot, do we?
It's not the Governments fault, so we cannot blame them ..... will we see people just filling up and driving off with false plates on their cars like the pikeys have been doing for decades?
At £3 a litre will we still settle for cars doing 18mpg? Will we still modify them to 400BHP and the resulting 10mpg? Will we buy small, slow, gentle cars and enter a world of laid-back driving where to hurry is a crime?

Who are we to blame then Pete?
The oil companies? I think not.
The many processes they go through to extract/refine and then deliver the fuel at the cost of 30-40p/litre and still turn a staggering profit. The government take their 60p+. You cannot say that they aren't to blame, Pete.
Politics is the root/route of all evil, my friend.
Cyril.

When fuel was 96p a litre the tax take was exactly the same as it is now (ignoring the small % increase due to VAT).
So, someone is to blame ...... but it isn't the Government - however much we may want to blame them!

The pips will be helped to squeak no end by the financial troubles which await us Pete, all due to the irresponsible policies over the last eleven years! Also the extra take from VAT and the windfall from oil prices is enormous for the Treasury.

Only an ignorant fool will carry on blaming the government in the same way you say regarding complaining yet doing nothing about it.
Even if you did protest though I honestly see no change
