Miles from the sea. Severn estuary is about the nearest, fairly sea like from the M4 down, keep going and you'll find such delights as Weston Supermud etc.
West Wales is the nearest bit of proper coast, follow the A44 until you can go no further or your feet get wet

agree miles from the sea, river severn is your best bet, it's a good walk from bewdley to bridgnorth and you can always use the steam train if you get tired
i still like the way they make luxury motor boats in kidderminster miles away from the sea.
cheers matt

Am in Bromsgrove-so obviously prepared to travel up to a couple of hours max!
Have done the usual walks-simmonds yat, malverns, clents etc-just fancied something a bit different-hence the beach question.
West Wales may be a bit of an option, but your thoughts would be appreciated

We kind of played it safe and went to Hartelbury common as suggested by Molbyman .Was well impressed as very close to home, managed to beast the dogs and found the old railway/canalside walk and a few pubs too. What with the fantastic weather, all in all a good day out.
Thanks for your suggestions, will try the rest out on my next sets of days off
