Correct
Roached
is a bad thing ? from what I've read its just how a lot of show dogs have developed.. for stronger stance ?

Pimmo, this is discussed on a regular basis with the guys and gals I deal with. The later showline bred dogs have roached backs because of breeding and nothing else.
Its get argued all the time between the working dog and showline dog owners that a roached back GSD can't work and that a working dog can't show. A show GSD has got more chance of working than a working dog has got of showing though.
The debates always stem from the fact the low rear end stops the dog from running and jumping properly.
I have both here or nearly, as the showline dog also has working titled parents and my fully trained SchH3 working dog has no showline blood in him whatsoever and looks purposeful as opposed to pretty.
My roached back dog can run and jump like no GSD I've ever had. He's a lot younger than the older trained dog and can now beat him convincingly over an acre sprint, but the older dog is by no means slow.
So worry not, it's a fact of breeding styles that isn't found in the 'classic' GSD.
