Petty minded money grabbing DVLA.
You see if you give an organisation a chance to raise extra revenue, they are going to abuse their powers and make any minor infraction a money earner.

He should have propped the car up so it looked ok. The look on the DVLA blokes face's when they tried to lift it would have been hilarious!

"Five police cars containing ten officers raced to the scene along with a six-man fire crew"
What were the firemen doing there? To show how to cut the car properly?

I think they were brought in because his car set on fire whilst he was cutting it in half
Now he effectively has two cars, will he have to pay tax twice

But one half doesn't have an engine, so he would be OK to park that on the pavement and keep the other half on the drive. Job done

A spokesman for clamping firm NCP Services, which was operating on behalf of the DVLA, condemned Ian’s actions as "dangerous and highly irresponsible".
Highly irresponsible for not paying the unjust fine lining the clamper's pockets, presumably. What a bloody joke the DVLA and the clampers are!

Thats class
I'm also pretty sure he didn't use a chainsaw.... what kinda blind idiots do these clamping companies employ? Oh.. the ones who clamp cars on private property.
Is there any grounds for him to bring a private prosecution for trespass? Seeing as they didn't take the vehicle away, presumably they had decided it hadn't broke the law after all - otherwise they should have taken it anyway surely?

It was clamped by NCP, acting on behalf of the DVLA. They still harp on about how it was justified, but failed to give a decent reason as to why they took the clamp off and cancelled the ticket..

But being two wheeled wouldn't the front now be classed as a motorbike and qualify for cheaper tax
