hi all,

I dont really want a credit card but ive been forced to get one by a holiday hire car place as means of a deposit. Holiday is in a weeks time, what is the turn around for CC's?

Also, does anyone know of any good signup deals or cards with useful loyalty points schemes etc. I may just close it when i come back, but a good deal on points or "free £100 when you join" type things may keep me on.

I don't think you've got any chance of getting one within a week, even if you go into a bank, and they'll have to run credit checks etc - then the card will be posted to you.

Not really sure of any decent offers, but sure there are some on comparison sites.

IIRC the best one for abroad use is still nationwides.
