Wink J10 M40/A43 (Silverstone bypass) Is it still a pain ?

I have to come up from the M25 to Easy Mids tomorrow afternoon. The choice is M40/A43 J10 or M1 or A1
I will be at J10 if I come that way around 5-5.30pm (busy time) Last time I came the tail back was horrendous, is this junction still bad at busy times or has it been improved ?

Cheers and thanks

I am sure that junction will still be better than sitting in the M1 traffic.

Agreed, i will make a huge difference 5 vs. 5.30.

It is a busy junction but better than it was.

I sometime come off at 9, head towards the retail village past towards Biscester and hook a left at the first mini roundabout, takes you parallel to the M40 up to j 10

I go that way twice a day, usually around 07:30 and 16:00. It does get busy there sometimes, but I've never been held up more than a few minutes in the last 4 months of doing that route. Maybe once or twice the wait has been 10 minutes, but that's about it.

It's hasn't been a problem the past few times I've been there. They have installed some traffic lights that 'kind of' work.

I prefer this route when going to Sheffield, rather than M40/M42 as the islands can be entertaining and you don't have the average speed cameras near the NEC.

I do that route to Northampton from Bracknell very frequently for work at the moment. It takes an hour and 45 to get to Northampton for 9 and leaving there at about 5 to get home. Traffic is always on A45 in Northampton and A404 in High Wycombe, I have never once been caught on the A43 (once got caught on M40 when it was closed about 4 weeks ago cos of an accident on a Friday afternoon...)

There are 2 cameras going from M40 towards Northampton and 3 coming back the other way. Watch for the signs, they are straight after them.
