Dog Again !
We are looking for a new dog after ours was put to sleep a few weeks ago, I was talking to someone yesterday who knows a family that want to re home their 10 month old Springer Spaniel. I would be quite happy but as its a Dog (as opposed to a bitch) my wife isn't sure as she has always had bitches before, plus she goes to her mums a lot and she has a Retriever and a Lab, who a re both Bitches.
She is concerned that males are prone to wandering but if we did get him, if he isn't already done then I would get him speyed.
So, is there really any difference in temperament and behaviour between a spayed Male and a female ? our old dog was a speyed bitch as I personally couldn't not be bothered with the ovulatory related aspects of female dog ownership either.

Dylan was done when he reached maturity....
Alright he went to work and tried to mount the headmaster's leg !
LOL
We had him done because he was a street-wise thug who wouldn't bat an eyelid at ripping my "old fella" (Sam) to bits just for looking at him....
Now tolerate each other (just !), with the odd grumble, but he doesn't wander (Mummy's boy) and loves kids.
