Default Road Angel

After my 2 week wait for a NIP I was thinking of getting one, any suggestions, which model, how much to pay and what are the chances of it staying in the car if I leave it in there ?

worth getting a system of similar ilk, or a sat nav with fixed cameras on but I would never leave it in the car and always clear off any sucker marks from the windscreen as people smash windows to check the clove box as many people leave them in there.

Cheers, would probably be alright as we live in a cul de sac and work is in the sticks but you are right, not worth the risk.

I've got a Road Angel 2 that I no longer need. Fixed and mobile lazer camera detection, transferable subscription, USB updates, all bits and bobs, still have the box. Yours for £80 + P&P if you like?

I've got a Road Angel Plus, but since the laser detection is fairly useless (once it goes off you've already been pinged) I'm going to chop it in for a Tom Tom with fixed camera locations installed, much more useful.

I'm pretty sure I'd crash the car if the laser detector ever went off, I put the unit on my laptop once, it detected the laser in the dvd. Christ did it make me jump!

My Snooper has done the job very well for quite some time now. A friend of mine who has a Road Angel says he is not that happy with it, I have never seen it in action though.

Really? Whys that. Mine is very good. Only selling as I know have an integrated GPS sat nav with safety camera database. But even that doesn't have a lazer detector.

He did not say anything specific but said he was not impressed. He does not use it anymore anyway.

The Snooper has a radar and laser detector which seems to work well although I have not seen a Gatso indicate that there is a working radar for a long time now. I am wondering if they have a different type of radar in them now. The laser detector is not that useful however as by the time you see the warning your speed is measured almost immediatel after that anyway.

GPS based systems like the RA are the best, radar detectors improved throughout their lifespan, but were still a bit "hit and miss"

Lazer detection at least lets you know to expect an NIP and takes the guesswork out of the 14day period!

Also, I should say that you can get a lucky deflection off another car being targeted that gives you sufficient warning to moderate your speed!

But it really should say: If you were speeding, you're nicked, sonny!

Go for a Talex Lite for an effective cheap option. GPS based with all GATSOs and known mobile sites built in.

I have a mate whose car looks like the Starship Enterprise with all the anti camera stuff, sat navs, laser blockers, gating guns or whatever. Not helped him.Still gets points

Pleased to say I've only been collared once in 20 years thanks to my trusty eyes (and no,I don't hang about)

(As to the OP,I've borrowed his RA.I just find it a bit annoying)
