Who watches Pimp my Ride?
What a joke? The kids on this show make it out that their lives are simply unbearable, they have no money to fix their car .....
Have you seen the houses they live in? Certainly doesnt look to me like theyr in need of money
I reckon its just a case of americans not having a clue about cars.....(no offence to any yanks who do take care of their cars lol)

That's a given. I mean just look at the ****e they make.
Problem with Pimp my ride , is that you can imagine the clutch/engine/gearbox/suspension lasting about 3 weeks after it comes out of the workshop carrying the extra 3 tonnes of neon lit leather scented foot massagers.

I think you will find, especially in the USA, its a 30 min -1 hour showcase advert for certain brands, which is why so many get a mention throughout the show
To get on the show its more about personality, audition, accepted, buy a shed to be modded, or be given one even lol.
One of the reasons Ryan wanted out, as it made him look bad with all the shocking stuff they did lol.
As for the houses, it can be quite deceiving, if you look at the "average" house, they are nothing special for particular social classes
The new show on discovery with WCC, Ryan etc is far more interesting.
And dont even get me started on the UK and Westwood lol.

I don't watch the new Pimp My Ride, it's just not the same as the old one with West Coast Customs. There was a lot of bad feeling when WCC left/were pushed by MTV due to the TV station wanting impossible bodgit builds done on serious old wrecks which WCC weren't happy about.
WCC have now got their own programme called Custom My Ride and it rocks, they do real builds on real cars for real people and they're awesome in a pimptastic kind of way

MTV recently showed one of the Dutch PMRs it was a Citroen ZX (i think) funny as **** with the dutch accents.
i kid though did have a ****/highly fecking dangerous car (it was 2 ford escorts US versions 'welded' together with glue in some of the 'welds' and they bought him a new car)

I'm planning to get out more, in fact that much of a fan I'm thinking of going to their workshops in June to worship at their feet and buy a t-shirt
It looks like we're going to scrap our Alps trip in favour of a motorhome and Route 66/Vegas/Grand Canyon/West Coast Customs road trip
May we'll even get some work done on the hire company's RV whilst we're there
Snazy, I'll get you a baseball cap and maybe Ryan's autograph

Yeah once again, just a good old advert. The UK version blank out the sponsors names, and bleeped out the guy X was talking to about the car. However im sure the dealership GAVE them the car for the advert
I do love the conversations he has with the guy though. Im assuming he is oriental lol

Odd because they don't blank out ALL the sponsors names (DeVilbiss is one they leave in and i work for them i don't know if that's good or bad ).
Yet like you said the new car name was bleeped out

Most of the houses filmed are in south central or downtown LA.... average houses for there- they are cheap, made of wood, and you don't really wanna walk around there at nite...
If you are on welfare in LA you can get somewhere like that!
Wont watch the uk version- terrible cars, terrible workmanship & design, and topped off with tim '****' westwood no thanks.

Indeed, Jamie and retrims, go together like errm ermm....
Anyway, a mate of mine was in the final 2 to do the UK version, lost out to Jamie, but in the end thats probably been a blessing in diguise. Dont think UK PMR has done Carisma any favours. Just like WCC for the US version.
