Default How bad is the pound ..

Not wishing to add to the seemingly non-stop doom and gloom, but wow the pound is awful against every single currency (apart from the equally bad dollar).

I just had to convert some to Polish Zloty (£1 = Z4 (used to be 6)) and the Euro (£1 = €1.2 (!!!!)) and was amazed at how bad the exchange rates are.

Going already, but with my luck something will happen with the exchange rate. Saying that, last year was 2-1

But dont worry, the country is in a better position than most to weather the financial storm... Honest, Gordon said so, and so did Darling.

Thats what you get for staying up all night, pillow talking with Gordon Brown about his meeting with the banks and lenders today.

Buy gold, gold i tell thee, sorry slipped a little then.

no really buy sheepskins, there will always be a need for them to wrap the newly homeless and poverty stricken people up...buy hey ho doom and gloom.

Having just changed our £ to Euro @ 1.20 I know the impact.....

At least if all else fails holidays will still remain cheap to the USA as they are in a worse state.

Ditto me. I just transferred a 6 figure sum back into sterling at 1.26 which I transferred out 3 years ago at 1.48...the net difference is buying my new car in 3 weeks time

Central America for me in 6 weeks for 4 months, if the rates stay the same it could well be a much cheaper trip than expected and I'll be coming back with some bread
