Question Hollow Wall Mount for 42 inch Plasma??

Hi all

I've just purchased myself a new 42inch plasma. I'm happy with it being on the stand but I'd like to mount it if possible.

Thing is I've got a poo new house where all the walls are hollow. I read an article the pother day about some new wall mounts that go behind the hollow wall/stud wall and can take up top 50inch TV's.

I've been on the net now for hours and I can't find them.

Anyone got any idea where the new hollow wall mounts are availble for sale?

Luckily mine is mounted on an outside wall so I used 10mm x 15" threaded bar and went right through to the outside. You can swing off it. lol

Yep, no problems if its got an outside wall behind it as you can go straight through the board and into the brick. I used 6" spax screws that went through the bracket and just cut into the thermolites behind, no raw plugs needed. The fixing was so good you could still the plasterboard start to pull in with it, so on the other hand make sure the bracket is big enough to spread the weight over the area. If its quite small, no matter how good the fixing is it will just squash through the plasterboard

15" long
A good fixing into the blockwork will suffice.

Thats worth remembering for the future Simon, we install quite a lot of Plasma's etc onto various walls and fittings

Not sure who we use for the fittings at the moment, tends to be whatever the job requires though, but we are only in Liverpool too

So bolt through the drywall through to the outside of the wall?

No need for raw plugs just a few simple bolts, right through from inside outside?

Just a wee thought, if you bolt all the way through the stud partition, protective membrane. Would your house still be covered under builders warranty if a new build and having broken your seal would it cause damp, loss of heat or rot on long term.
