Tax Friendly Classics
Just got my Road Tax Renewal Form.
£180 ..... I don't like it - but I would be really cheesed off if it said £400+!!
Looking on the Car Tax site at Parkers it says I should be paying £185?

So, according to this.......next year I'll be paying £300!!!

If your car was registered before the 1st March 2001 then car tax is based only on the engine size, with one rate for engine sizes up to and including 1549cc and one for engines over 1549cc.

That's the entire point!....its puts ALOT more pollution than anything new....and the cost of road tax £zero. As the vehicle was constructed and used before 1st January 1973. (re: Historic Vehicle ), and therefore exempt from duty. 
What's the deal with the Bold print?
