Vulcan 558
I am very pleased to report that there have been sufficient funds donated to make it possible to authorise further airtests for the certificate of airworthiness. More will be required however to complete the flying display demonstration to the CAA so that the aircraft can be authorised to take part in air displays. I hope it will be allowed to demonstrate its handling in full as before.
I wish them all the luck.

Yep they have been working for the last week to move from anti det back into flying mode.
Message from Robert Pleming, Chief Executive VTST, 7th April 2008
I’m delighted to let everyone know that preparations have been going well for the resumption of XH558’s test flying programme, which I hope will now restart in the next few days – weather permitting!
Following the completion of the test flights, there will be an interlude of about a month, during which Marshall Aerospace and the CAA will be completing the final reviews and paperwork leading to the grant of the Permit to Fly.
We will then be able to fly again, this time to practice how we will bring XH558 to airshows. The final step is to fly our airshow sequence in front of a CAA Display Examiner, who, if satisfied with its safety, will issue a Display Authorisation.
So thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we currently are on track to return to airshows this summer.
The decision to “go for it” was made possible by trusting our supporters that the fund-raising momentum would continue. We must keep it up – we have to find at least £50,000 this month, and the same amount in May and so on until we have returned to the airshow circuit.

An emergency state 2 was called on route but looks like in was a fault indicator on the APU.

I took the Air Marshal (Mike Knight), who was at the head of the organisation to get 558 flying up on a trip once some years ago. When I did something like you just said, he said "Its better than sex Les!" You should have seen the grin on his face.
