I had a nasty gash on my hand recently, not too much different to yours. Sliced straight into my hand with a filling knife.

Don't ask... happened at work, couldn't stop it from bleeding for ages. I feel your pain.

Moral to the story, don't cut, or whatever towards yourself.

But you did it to show them what can happen obviously.

Bit like when I broke my arm on Monday, it was a lesson to others on what not to do.

Did something similar to my index finger on my left hand, went straight through the nerve. Still have no feeling in the tip of that finger after 4 years

Knelt on my plastering trowel once, didn't even feel it till I wondered why my socks felt wet... Nice big slash across my knee.
Had to go to hospital, very lucky not to have stitches (just butterflies). My mate slashed his hand open a week earlier - had to have eight stitches (was very lucky to miss his tendons).
When I was little I dropped a sharp knife and caught it point first. Still have a scar on my palm.

Did exactly the same thing when I was about 17. I now sport a nice scar on my thigh for my troubles, least it taught me not to cut stuff whilst using my leg as a rest

Years ago, Mr OS was drilling into a piece of wood while sitting on the floor with it balanced on his leg............well, you can guess the rest! The drill went into calf, taking bits of overall with it. He then had to put the drill into reverse to get it out!

But the painful part was the clip round the earhole you gave him for spilling blood on the carpet?

It was before I was with him (luckily for him!). Although there was the time when he was up a ladder in the front garden painting the top of our bay window...........I was in the sitting room and saw him fly past the window........thing was, he landed on my lilies and lavender. I told him off about that!
