Sorry if it's SIAL but check out the following:
Desktop Tower Defense
Very simple idea, stop the little dudes crossing the desktop playing space by blocking them with assorted gun turrets. Try not to get too addicted!

Yeah, I know! Spent most of a slow easter Monday trying to get a good system (lots of cheap pellet guns to block, upgraded water squirters are fast and cause decent damage)... Daren't try it at work - productivity would fal to all time lows!!!

The challenge mode is good too - it gives you things like a set 3K to survive 50 levels, which I managed to do last night.
Freeze cannons are good (cheap to upgrade to Frost Tower) and cause a fair bit of damage as well as slowing them down. Also try the "earthquake" turret and the damage multiplier towers - the latter is only available on hard and challenge I think.
Very true about the bosses becoming tricky... Especially the flying ones!

If you like that, then sign up to Casual Collective, as I'm pretty sure they came up with Desktop TD, plus they have other TD like games on their site too. There is also the excellent Vector TD , which I think is done by the same people.
