What the buggery bollocks is that all about ?
A load of people stamping for hours to a slight variation of the same tune, the missus is watching it on Sky Three.
Then there's a woman playing an Electric Violin, just buy a guitar !!!!
Jesus, the crap people (female people) will watch.

I do not undstand it at all, leaves me cold, yup, some nice looking girls but other than that - i do not see the appeal.
it has as much appeal as line dancing and that really is not a lot.

Non irish people shouldn't watch Riverdance. You are not able to understand the music or the concept. You need to have irish dancing beaten into you from a young age, then try to learn 'The Mason's Apron' on the fiddle (thats an irish violin to you non belivers) - Only then can you appreciate the skill involved.

I'm not Irish but I reckon this dancing is magic - The marvel of the human brain in being able to perfectly co-ordinate the movements of each dancer syncronised to a micro second -I find it bloody amazing.
Have a look at this and how the dancers are really enjoying themselves- I'm going out to get a Guinness !

Yes, perhaps it is amazing for about a minute, yes very good but it doesn't really scale up to a two hour show. Sure it does require skill but it still looks a bit odd.
Diddly Dee, Diidly Dum, Tappity, Tapitty Stomp Click.....
We have Morris dancing in England, thankfully that hasnt been turned into a Show and DVD.
