what does it matter, we have no control on it {except the vote} all those who voted them in are now seeing the real damage they have and are still doing tot he country, it happened last time and it is happening again, this country used to be a good place to be but it is getting silly now the harder you work and the more you try to do better for yourself and your family the more money they take off you, become a lout and a dolite and you will get everything given to you with no effort needed.
Ho hum in answer to your post tax on the hard working, more money to the not.

Income tax staying as it is (sweetner so they can say people are better off)
Booze I dont care about.
Average person to be worse off by £25 a week, but in the cloud of bullsheeeeeet they will blow up, people will be better off by £40

I actually agree with the plastic bag levy, though.

Anyone who works hard will be worse off.
Anyone who's single will be far worse off.
Anyone who's single and hasn't randomly spawned dozens of offspring, will be even more worse off.
Anyone who sits on their backside all day doing FA; it won't matter to them because its not their money anyhow.

Well, I just paniced, rushed and got my Car Tax reminder, £205 seems quite reasonable compared to what might be required tomorrow, so lets see how much difference it makes.
Global Warming, Gaz Guzzlers, what a load of bollocks whilsts theres 747's blasting overhead every ten minutes, convenient taxation vehicle to pay for the feckless amongst us, serves us right for voting the d1cks in, at least you knew tories were self interested shifty bast4rds, but at least they rewarded a bit of hard work and enterprise, as opposed to sloth, being crap and waiting for a handout.

Will almost be dissapointed if it doesnt go up !
Trouble is, I saved up hard for my car (as most do), nine grand yet the government seem hell bent on making it almost impossible to sell on again seeing as it is in band F, it being a Saab doesnt help either. I am lucky in that I can make a phone call, fill out a form and have a brand new Focus diesel or something delivered courtesy of the company but I prefer to use my car allowance as salary to pay all the bills that come in, I only do about 4000 miles a year.
Why dont the government just take all our income off us and save pretending that we get to keep any of it.

Band G to go down to £50
Income Tax to be cut to 15p for all, regardless of Income.
A Working Tax rebate will be paid to those in work of £15,000 per annum
The umemployed will be offered ONE job and if refused will receive not a penny more
Troublesome Council Estates will be used to test the new Nuclear Warhead Devices
Girls with no job and 5 different coloured children will be sterilised and the children will be given to those who work and want children
Fuel Duty cut - Super petrol will be 45p per litre at 6pm
Dentists will be forced to work for the people who supported their training, the taxpayers, instead of lining their fat private pockets.
The old and weak, if worked all their lives, will receive an immediate £100 a week pension rise ..... the pensioners who spent their time in prison and unemployed will have all benefits removed forthwith.
Middlesbrought Football Club will be given £100million to pay for decent players and Newcastle United will be taken into liquidation, Sunderland will be demoted to League 2.
Carlsberg don't do Budgets .... but, if they did!!

How's that sound?

Whatever happens (and it really annoys me on the choice of car front) in the future the family car will be a cheap small runabout.
And if the whole country is being forced to think like this, how is it going to affect all the big car companies, their sales and the amount of tax that the government gets from them and that market.
Surely this continued blasting of cars and increased tax is going to come back and smack them across the face.
My prediction....Mr Darling won't last long

"Big" cars have been dead for years. It represents a tiny share of the market.

True.
You don't see many Freelanders,Discoverys,RAV4's,X trails,BMW's with 1.6 engines,Mercedes cars with 1.6 engines,AudiA4 Estates with 1.6 engines,Range Rovers,Lexuses,Citroen Picassos,C4's,Saabs,Volvo V70's,XC90's,RR sports (very very rare) etc etc etc etc etc
I certainly don't see a road network heaving with Toyota Aygos. Our next car (when the kids are bigger will be something like a Fiat 500)
My MX will stay in the garage though even if they do tax us to oblivion.I'm even thinking about buying a classic car

Sounds rather communist to me: Just think, the UK will make a "people's car" Just like the Trabants and Vazs of yesteryear.
Probably commissioning Tata to build it for them.

Heard that this morning.
£2k on new "gas guzzlers"
£1K road tax in first year for either any car or "gas guzzlers"
We all know about the income tax changes for april. Less complicated CGT.
Is LPG fuel being hiked up to petrol prices or is it they don't get the discount for being in London?
This is why my MY99 65K 4.0 Jeep cost £1,500 - and thats the top of the price range!

Really, i bet 1 in evey 20 cars i see each day is a (new/newish) large 4x4, walk to school to drop our eldest or pick her up and it really is a BIG 4x4 car park.

But I see your point, they still have a market, maybe I was being a bit overzealous with my "they are dead" statement.
I am quite happy for them to get taxed to the hilt though - If for no other reason that the second hand market dies and you can pick up £50,000 worth of motor for £7,000 when its still relatively new.

Do they expect somebody who can afford a Ferrari to give a sh*t about paying an extra £2000 showroom Tax or £500-£1000 car tax each year? No. They know it won't make a difference.
All these "Green" policies/Taxes are going to hit over taxed hard working families. And none of the money collected will be used to invest into research for renewable energy resourse, or to research alternative energy sourses. No, all the extra money is going straight to the Governments coffers to be wasted on paying for the every increasing immigration population.

Thing is, it's not the Ferrari drivers you care about - In terms of reducing CO2 you need to dissuade the everyday person from having something thirsty, rather than the rich.

Don't forget that the initial allowance at 10% has now been done away with so that we now pay 20% on that allowance instead. Just a way of screwing money out of those who are poorest as far as salary is concerned!
