Flicking the stability control and drivetrain settings to 'Race' is unnecessary. This expands the opportunity to feel the rear slip under power but you don't need to push that hard to run away from the R8. in fact, you find yourself short-shifting or soft-pedalling the throttle to give the Audi a chance to catch up so you can see how hard it is trying. The game has moved on

Theres a 2 part Autocar podcast available through iTunes (Chirs on Camera) with a test between the GTR, M3 and GT3, it's worth a watch! 
Still think I prefer the GT3 after this test, the GTR is a car that seems to drive itself for you, still, it's an impressive piece of kit!
