Tesco mobile
After 6 months my Samsung mobile packed up, lost its display and was basically dead. Took it back to the store to be told as its over a month old it has to go off for repair. Sent it off and it returned today with a letter stating the handset shows sign of water ingress and as such the warranty is void. Now the phone is either in my pocket, at my ear or on charge. It has not been near any water. I'm really unimpressed as the letter suggests the handset has been left in a cols car or simlar overnight. This is absolutely not the case. I intend phoning them in the morning to see how this can be progressed. (I don't hold out much hope) Anyone else had similar / bad experiences with Tesco PAYG?

No, but i had EXACTLY the same accusations from vodaphone years back. They blamed water ingress for what was a very well known screen fault on a nokia I had, and refused warranty repairs.
I asked for the phone back so I could get an independant expert to look at it and promptly got a reply from them along the lines of "We seem to have lost your phone so as a goodwill gesture here is a new one...."
All very suspicious.
