In short..

Making London Safer

Today I launched my crime manifesto for a safer London, accompanied by Shadow Home Secretary David Davis MP, Ray Lewis, founder of Eastside Young Leaders’ Academy, and Johnno Hills, an ex Detective Constable. You can read the full manifesto here.

I pledged to:
• Provide strong leadership as Mayor by chairing the Metropolitan Police Authority and driving out the culture of time-wasting form-filling.
• Make the transport network safer with more police on the beat and live CCTV on buses.
• Implement a comprehensive strategy on gun and knife crime.
• Help the victims of sexual violence with funding for new Rape Crisis Centres.
• Make the police in London more accountable.

I still say...... Vote Boris.........bye Ken!

agree he has got to go, although he is playing a numbers game hoping that although he has upset 33000 approx drivers with his £25 charge he will regain these votes of the greenies, he is not as stupid as his policies are making him out to be.

Na im sure someone in his office is not that stupid, but I would not give him the credit for that maths.
He hates cars, end of, and admitted he wanted rid of them years ago, so he is in the wrong job for starters.

Not saying Boris is THE man for the job and gods gift etc, but he certainly seems far more interested in London than Ken or any other candidates have in years! Thats either a little passion or good marketing.

A couple of hours after the Camden fire started Boris had made a statement. The following day, no word from Ken... Being that Camden is one of the main organs of the body of London, im shocked the man so interested and involved in it all had nothing to say..... Or maybe he was pissed again! Oh no, thats only when he is at work isnt it lol

Loving these ideas...

By introducing ‘Payback London’, a scheme that will require under 18s
who abuse their right to free bus travel to earn it back through
community service projects.

By taking responsibility and chairing the Metropolitan Police Authority
and using my influence to tear up red tape and needless form-filling, so
we can get more police out on the streets.

By providing local communities with New York-style crime maps which
show the true crime levels in every neighbourhood, which can then be
used to ensure Borough Commanders are held to account at monthly
open public meetings.

We need to spend less on press officers, and more on police officers. We
need to redirect more resources to frontline policing.

I believe we need a more visible police presence on buses, trains and at
transport hubs such as bus stops and rail platforms. This is why I will release
funds that Ken Livingstone has earmarked for MPA advertising and press
officers to be spent on approximately 50 extra fully-warranted British
Transport Police Officers to patrol the worst stations in outer London.

I will also release funds that Ken Livingstone has earmarked for Transport for
London advertising and press officers to be spent on approximately 440
PCSOs to be added

I will stop now, but I like this man. Lets hope he can follow through with even 10% of it.
