Looking for a decent 15 rated horror/suspense type film.

Possibles so far, have:
The Ring
I know what you did last summer

(short list huh? )

It's a shame Halloween is an 18, it would be first choice even 20 years on.

Any suggstions...?

Could try Dark Water (think it's a 15), or The Grudge, or The Return. I personally didn't find them scary, but I'm hard to scare, they're all quite suspensful though.

P.S. Why does it have to be a 15?

Ta, will look at those.

It's for a 15 yo girl birthday sleepover

Blair Witch is 15 too, old hat for the oldies but I reckon might be a winner for new 15 year olds.

Ah, just thought of Identity, it's a good film too.

Can you not let them watch 18 rated, or would parents complain?

The birthday girl would likely be fine with 18 but wouldn't want to be responsible for moral corruption of others (or have straight laced parents complaining that they have post traumatic stress the following week!)

Original Omen is brilliant but thought it might be a bit dated, will have a look at that also.

I havent seen the 'new' Omen, but I was told by someone that had seen it that its not worth it, as it is pretty much line for line the same as the original

Thanks for the help folks, remakes are ok (if they're of a similar standard) as this bunch won't have seen originals, more modern might be better.

American Werewolf is 18 too, I've spent the evening on IMDB looking at titles and then cursing at the certificates.
Funny seeing stuff in Sweden and France at 15/16 and 18 in the UK.

Hank can you not filter your search on IMDB for 15 cert films ?

Or is that a paid only feature now

Also just watch the ratings on some of the older films, as some films have been re-classified for DVD, and because they no longer warrant the 18 certificates they had in their day

I've got an id somewhere for the powersearch, have been using Tesco site as you can filter to genre and then cert but after the first few pages, I've never heard of them!! (and hows current dvd certs)

Also there are the Final Destination films, although they are more on the gory side.

What about The Frighteners? That must be a 15 or a 12 and has a horror / suspense theme.

15 year old girls? You will bore them out of their mind!

They need scream a minute and laughs....i would have Scream type stuff was best.

(and no - you can have 15 year old kids over and show them an 18....i'm not a fussy parent (my 7 year old has completed Gears of War) but i'd be pissed at someone else making those calls on my behalf)

Any Japanese/Korean horror movies.

Ringu Trilogy
Deathnote
Pulse
The Host
Anything by takashi miike (although you may have to check on the ratings first as he's done some pretty harsh movies)
