Holy crap!! I just got THE call....
....
From the hospital, surgery tomorrow lunchtime
So by 1.30 I will be all tucked up in my private room, and by 2.30 it might be me under the knife.
Mixed feelings. Glad its getting done so soon now, but at the same time, in shock that the time has arrived, and I got 17 hours notice! lol
Not complaining though.
Will be back home tomorrow evening if all goes well, and starting the road to recovery.

Cheers peoples
Its only a routine op for my tennis elbow, but I am going under general. Phew lol
Sorry the first post was a bit vague. A little confuddled at the mo haha.
Had the tennis elbow since June 06, was put forward for surgery a number of months back, and had an NHS appointment which got cancelled. SO this is rather nice to get in quick now, and private too.
My room awaits haha.
Aaaah well, depending on how the pain level is after, I will be back at some point

Well at least it'll save you worrying about it for weeks, sometimes being given such a short notice is a blessing
Hope it goes well, see you back on here straight after for a full report

Hope it's better than my op ..... the label attached to my toe said, "Remove Polyps"
Some clever **** had changed the first "P" into a "B" ..... I will never have children again
Good luck!!

A similar thing happened to me. The last thing I heard before going under was the surgeon saying "nurse, remove this man's spectacles!".

I am not a doctor but I too have had chronic tennis elbow .
I had various doctors and specialists resort to ice packs /slings /cortezone injections etc Nothing worked or reduced the effect .
None of them recommended surgery though.
But I did go to a quack doctor - Tilly -actually a wonderful little old Swedish lady who guaranteed instant cure/relief .
Who would believe this ?
Well I went to her - being virtually unable to pick up a pencil !
Within 5 minutes I was cured . No surgery nothing other than a robust yes robust manipulation of the arm and elbow joint using a silk stocking to maximise leverage.
She explained TE is the result of the tendons becoming knotted at the point of anchor and the manipulation releases them .
It works and as she told me "You'll never get tennis elbow again"
She was right !
She was so good , atheletes / sports stars from all over Australia would fly to Perth just to see her. Her reputation was country wide and its a big country.
Unfortunately the lady in question has passed away , but believe me there are alternatives to surgery - which can make things worse.
