Sadens me to see people cheer because someone has a very nice car and gets a parking ticket, speaks volumes about their mentality and i do doubt any will have the gumption or what it takes to earn the sort of money to buy one or even think of trying to.

Britian in the year 2008 - crowd cheers traffic warden doing their job - sad

They are cheering because the person who owns it obviously thought they were better than the law.

I think the definition of parking arrogance was a lady in Birmingham. Each and every day she parked on the street exactly where she wanted to. For many years it had been free to park there, but not anymore.

As she was rich she ignored the changes and just parked up. Each day a new parking ticket was attached to her windscreen, and each morning the previous day's ticket was given to her PA to pay off. She was paying more than £20k per year.

Exactly, £60 really wouldn't bother someone that can afford a car like the Buggatti. They probably just spent that on their lunch!

Doesn't make it right to break the law, but when it's just a fine very wealthy people generally really aren't bothered.

so you have never, ever parked illegally, i suppose you have never broken the speed limit either.

Whilst i do not know whos it is and frankly do not even care, so what if simon cowell has one, to cheer would be ok then. whilst i am not a fan of cowell he has made his money through determination and talent - his own and spotting other peoples so what is wrong with that.

shame a few more people do not get off of their ***** and try.

It does speak volumes about some peoples mentality.
So if you see a knackered old van parked illegally and being ticketed what would you think - what is the difference both parked illegally so why should an expensive car attract this sort of attention. The van driver could be just as arrogant but chances are without the money of the bugatti owner. - I wonder how many would think - poor sod, shame he got done ******* council should have better things to do...

cheering a traffic warden and some people defend it - good god.

I don't think its the fact that its about someone being above the law - I doubt a Ford Focus would have drawn that attention when being ticketed; and the only reason the Veyron did is because the mentality of the crowd was "ha, rich ****, deserves everything they get.. *******... ".

Which is just pathetic if you ask me; its that mentality that makes us all nervous when we park our cars up and the reason I came back to mine a few weeks ago to find milkshake and spit all over it.

You're being a tool.

People like to see arrogant people get their commence.

If you cant see how the contributing factors here add up to a humours situation for the bystanders then you are blinkered by your obvious fascination for Simon cowell.

I'm sure if the owner had rushed back during all this and turned out to be a single mum who had just rushed to the chemist to get meds for her sick child then there would have been lots of sympathy.

calling me a tool - what a child.

Ok, simon cowell bought up by dnp - i used it as an example. your 'fascination' comments are to be expected from you i suppose.

The crowds immediate reaction (or so it appears) was to cheer which still speaks volumes.

Assumption is the mother of all, etc, etc, they assumed and i commented.

nuff said - to you anyhow.

Given that you can barely get an SUV into an english parking space nowadays because they are so small, I am not surprised he left it there.
Would you want to squeeze it into some lego space next to some **** who woul fling open their doors without a second thought and dint the doors?

As for the chavs cheering.....they are the ones having to line up for the bus, and not driving home in a veyron... tossers

If it was a mondeo nobody would have even stopped to smile let alone cheer. Its called Jealousy.

Although I agree it should have been ticketed, not that the owner will care

What is the point in owning, and using and parking a car like that in London, when it can be used only, and sensibly, on the VW testing track in Germany?

It's like having a Space Shuttle booster rocket attached to your backpack while riding on your pushbike! Useless!

There is no point driving ANY performance cars in London; yet you don't have to look far to see Porsches, Ferraris, Scoobies, Evos and countless other marques.

I won't be getting into a smart car just yet, ta!

The Veyron is the pinnicle of automotive design and to drive one means that you are a) want a piece of history! b) are much more successful than any of us.

Do any of the detractors on here not think that they should be grateful to the owner for giving the people in that pic a chance to get close to such a rare car and not just sealing it away in some climate controlled garage for the privilaged few to look at.

I think the owner's attitude, if not their parking, should be commended!

I agree with Paul Hapgood.

The warden was doing her job correctly to ticket it but it is indeed sad to see the attitude of those who were cheering just because the car was what it is.

I can think of at least 800,000 ways to better spend the money. It's just a car, an expensive one at that. Pinnicle in automotive design, are you paid by Top Gear/BBC per chance? Yeah, it will be a piece of history alright!

I couldn't give a rats **** about the "owner" leaving it out for public gaze! Tosser!

My uncle, worth about 40 mil, drives....a Honda! It's no wonder he's worth 40 mil..eh?
