Default Calling a mobile in Spain from the UK

Ok,

I was in Madrid last week & "someone" tried to call me. They have advised me that my ringing tone was a UK one ?

Does anyone have any ideas how this could be ?

The only thing i can think of is that my company who do a major amount of business in spain must have some sort of deal set up ?

Any ideas ?

Cheers

Nope no idea, unless you are on Vodaphone, and it does the one ring before answerphone. Which is always UK regardless of where the phone is.

I was pissed off last week too, getting a call from someone at work, they let it ring and ring, even though it was an international tone... get the message numpty lol

lol fair enough.
Did anyone else call you while you were there? Ask them what they heard

At the end of the day no UK service provider, provides the service abroad, its their international counterparts. Even though I am on Orange in the UK, Orange in the Dominican Republic is a totally different one.
So when the call hits the UK exchange, and the UK provider diverts the call, voila, international ring tone

Thats how I understand it anyway. Dont think any special circumstances could really work out. But I have been known to be wrong..... frequently

I got calls constantly never a complaint. I might just be a problem with her ears Or could just simply have been an error.

People that call me on my Spanish mobile from the UK claim to get a UK tone one time and a Spanish the next. I do sometimes also route a UK VOIP Number to my mobile and that does the same thing. Telephony and IP telephony here in particular is very odd...
