Question Whats My Chances?

Been with BT Broadband for nearly 4 years paying £15:99 a month for 2.2Mbps.

I now have a functioning Laptop and want to put a wireless router into the telephone line.

It has been suggested that BT may well supply me with the kit I need in exchange for a signature on a 12 month contract .... would you feel lucky? well would ya punk?

I've e-mailed them to say I'm looking around - just wanted to see what you lot thought?

Any good deals out there if they don't offer me a mind blowing deal?

But, if I can get all the needed bits for free - why not?

If your planning on stating with them for the next 12 months go for it, I'd ring and go straight to cancellations (english speaking) They offered me the home hub for free providing I signed a 12 month contract. Although I had had enough, already gone 6 weeks without broadband and 20+ hours on the phone to Indian call centres trying to sort the problem out.

Surely any deal has got to be better than 2.2Mbps for £16

Through Sky I get around 6.5Mbps for £5

I did the same as you - phoned them up and said match the deal. They sent me ANOTHER BT home hub for free, a BT vision box (free) with two power ethernet adapters

Oh and knocked £6 a month off the BB cost (8Mb unlimited)

Come to think of it - they owe me a hub phone.....

Possibly not, but as I don't download anything at home, the only way I can verify the speed is via the router Admin or Speed Sites.

Either way I get more than Pedro and for a 1/3 of the price

OK, I rang them.

Offer 1 - pay us £24:99 a month, then,

Offer 2 - pay us £22:99 a month for 3 months and then £24:99 a month after that, 12 month contract, then,

Offer 3 - pay us £19:99 a month for 3 months and then £24:99 a month after that, 18 month contract, then,

When I asked for the MAC Code I was transferred to another department.

Offer 4 - pay £19:99 a month, 12 month contract, free equipment, BT Vision, free evening and weekend calls, Direct Debit will be removed and it will be added to my bill ......

Now, I forgot to ask - is the £19:99 subject to VAT? Anyone know?

Call me suspicious, but I do not trust BT one inch .... they have tried to 'con' me on numerous occassions.
